I-35W Saint Anthony Falls Bridge, Minneapolis
The original I-35W bridge collapsed on 1 August, 2007, killing 13 people and injuring 145 more. Designed for a life of fifty years, it collapsed after forty. Construction on this bridge began on 17 December, 2007, and it was opened on 18 September, 2008, at a cost of $234 million. It was completed three months early, on budget, and with no lost time due to safety incidents.
Stone Arch Bridge, Minneapolis
This is a former railroad bridge which crosses the Mississippi River in downtown Minneapolis. The bridge was completed in 1883 at a cost of $650,000.
