It took me about four years to get this image. The sun appears behind Mount Baker only twice per year, and other times I was away, or it was cloudy, or I forgot. I’ve had this printed on 36 inch by 18 inch aluminum, and it looks spectacular.

This is my favourite kind of photography. Long exposures, several frames, all stitched into one image in Lightroom.

If you look closely, you will see a set of white legs holding the bee in place. The crab spider ambushes pollinators, even changing their own colour to blend in with the environment. Note the red strip on the white body - helping it to blend in with the rest of the flowers.

Most photographers use Adobe Lightroom to process digital images. In this image, I used Lightroom to convert it to black & white, remove haze caused by water vapour in the air, and to emphasize the existing cloud structure. What you see in this image isn’t what I saw with the naked eye, but it is what was going on in that cloud - which I think is really interesting.
This cloud spawned a tornado about 15 miles from where I took the photograph. No one was hurt by it, and other than some farmland getting beaten up, there was no damage.

These fishing boats, called pangas, are found almost everywhere along the coast.

These snails have a huge foot that helps to anchor them to the sand. They are adept at burying themselves quickly. This image was taken at the beach at the village of Ash Shuwayimiyyah.
